About Us
Muir Lake Playschool is a not-for-profit association managed by an executive committee comprised of a team of parent volunteers. The Playschool is part of the Muir Lake Community and has been operating for over 45 years. Parent participation, fundraising initiatives, and tuition fees are integral to the success of the Playschool, and a positive experience for our students.
The Playschool operates from early September until the middle of June. We follow the Parkland School Division calendar with respect to holidays, including Personal Development days. Parents will be contacted if classes are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
We offer one 3 year old class, and two 4 year old classes. The maximum class size is 16 students. Under special circumstances, the Playschool Executive may change the final class size as deemed necessary. There is one Lead Teacher and one Teacher for each class. If a class does not have a minimum of 12 children in September, that class may be cancelled at the discretion of the Muir Lake Playschool Executive.
The Playschool offers several different themes throughout the year that expose our students to many mediums, while incorporating our goals and objectives. Field trips, outside activities, concerts, and visits by local organizations are also part of our students’ Playschool experience.
